1. Our Clean Candle Standards At Dulce Aliento Candle Co., your health and home environment are our priorities. We exclusively use a premium Virgin Coconut Soy wax blend and avoid all paraffin wax. To ensure the highest air quality, we use fragrance distributors that provide CandleScience CleanScents™.

Our fragrances are formulated to be among the safest on the market and are strictly free from:

  • Carcinogens: Ingredients known to cause cancer.

  • Mutagens: Chemicals that can alter DNA.

  • Reproductive Toxins: Toxins that can adversely affect reproductive health.

  • Organ Toxins: Chemicals that can cause adverse effects within specific bodily organs.

  • Acute Toxins: Toxins that can cause adverse effects from a single exposure.

  • Phthalates & Parabens: We are proud to be 100% Phthalate and Paraben-free.

2. Product Liability & Assumption of Risk By purchasing and lighting a Dulce Aliento candle, the customer assumes all responsibility for its safe use. Candle burning is an inherent fire hazard. Dulce Aliento Candle Co. is not liable for any damage, injury, or loss resulting from negligence, improper wick maintenance, or leaving a candle unattended.

3. Wick Care (Cotton & Wood)

  • Standard Cotton Wicks: Trim to 1/4″ before every light.

  • Wooden Wicks (Large Jars): These wicks require a bit more “love.” On your first burn, allow the wax to melt completely to the edges. Before relighting, always snap off the charred black bits from the top of the wood. Keep the wood wick trimmed to 1/8″ for a clean, crackling flame.

4. Event & Popup Purchases For products purchased in person at markets or summer events:

  • Melting Warning: Because our coconut soy wax is natural and paraffin-free, it has a lower melting point. Do not leave candles in hot vehicles or direct sunlight, as the wax will melt and warp.

  • Inspection: Please inspect glass jars at the time of purchase. We are not responsible for breakage that occurs after the product leaves our booth.

5. Burning Safety Essentials

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Do not burn for more than 4 hours at a time.

  • Stop use when 1/2″ of wax remains; burning to the very bottom can cause the glass to overheat and crack.

All soap products from Dulce Aliento Candle Co., including but not limited to our Goats Milk, Oatmeal, Shea Butter, Coconut, and Ultra Clear Glycerin soap bases and room sprays, are handcrafted with natural ingredients.

  • User Responsibility: It is the sole responsibility of the consumer to read all listed ingredients before use. Our products contain botanical extracts, essential oils, and nut-derived oils (Coconut).

  • Patch Test Recommended: If you have sensitive skin or a history of allergies, we strictly advise performing a patch test on a small area of skin.

  • Medical Disclaimer: Our products are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any skin condition or disease. If a reaction occurs, discontinue use immediately. Dulce Aliento Candle Co. is not responsible for any adverse physical reactions resulting from the use or misuse of our products.

2. Nature of Handcrafted Goods

Because our soaps and sprays are made with all-natural ingredients and no synthetic stabilizers or harsh chemicals, variations in color, scent strength, and texture may occur between batches. These variations are a hallmark of natural products and do not constitute a defect.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Dulce Aliento Candle Co. and its owners shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from:

  • Misuse of Products: Including, but not limited to, ingestion of soaps or sprays, spraying near eyes/face, or use on incompatible surfaces.

  • Storage & Safety: Failure to store products away from children, pets, or extreme heat/open flames.

  • Property Damage: Any staining or damage to furniture, linens, or flooring resulting from the use of room sprays or soaps.

4. No Synthetic Chemical Warranty

While we take pride in formulating products without synthetic chemicals, parabens, or phthalates, “natural” does not mean “non-reactive.” By purchasing our products, the consumer acknowledges that natural ingredients can still cause sensitivities and assumes all risks associated with their use.
