Coconut and soy waxes are refined hydrogenated vegetable oils widely recognized as low-risk, safe burning bases for home fragrance.

  • Refining Process: The hydrogenation and refining process used to create vegetable waxes strips away almost all natural proteins—the components responsible for triggering allergic responses.

  • Skin Contact & Burning: While contact dermatitis or skin irritation from hydrogenated soy and coconut oil is extremely rare, mild localized irritation can occasionally occur in individuals with extreme dermal sensitivities or specific allergies to additives/fragrance oils mixed into the wax.

  • Inhalation: Burning soy or coconut wax produces minimal soot compared to paraffin wax.
