I’ve noticed the 8 oz and 10 oz candles are priced higher than some other brands. Can you help me understand the value behind them?

We completely understand that our pricing reflects a different investment than mass-market alternatives. At Dulce Aliento, we view our candles as “interior design assets”—functional art pieces designed to do more than just provide light.

The price of our 8 oz and 10 oz collections is rooted in four uncompromising pillars of quality:

• The “Clean Burn” Commitment: Unlike standard paraffin candles (a petroleum byproduct), we use a signature blend of virgin coconut and soy wax. This is a costlier, sustainable material that burns slower and significantly cleaner, ensuring you aren’t breathing in soot or harsh chemicals in your sanctuary.

• Complex Olfactive Architecture: Our scents aren’t “single-note” fragrances. We collaborate with master distillers to create phthalate-free, multi-layered aromas. This ensures a “hot throw” that fills a room with a sophisticated, evolving scent profile without being overpowering.

Candle Care

Why is my candle “tunneling”?

Tunneling occurs when a wick burns straight down the center, leaving a ring of unmelted wax on the sides. This is usually caused by not burning the candle long enough on the first use, which creates a “memory ring.” To prevent this, always ensure the wax melts all the way to the edge of the container during the first burn.

How long should I burn my candle?

To get the most out of your candle, we recommend burning it for 2 to 3 hours at a time. Burning for longer can cause the container to overheat.

How long will my candle last?

• 8 oz Candles: Typically provide 40 to 56 hours of burn time.
• 10 oz Candles: Typically provide 50 to 70 hours of burn time.

Why do I need to trim the wick?

Trimming wicks to 1/8–1/4 inch before every light is essential for safety. It prevents large, flickering flames, black soot buildup, and overheating. A trimmed wick ensures an even burn, increases the candle’s lifespan, and improves the “scent throw” in your room.

Can I reuse or recycle the candle jar?

Yes! Once the wax is gone, you can freeze the jar to pop out the remaining wax or use boiling water to clean it. Cleaned jars are perfect for storing crafts, cotton balls, or office supplies. You can also place cleaned glass in your municipal recycling bin.

Shipping & Returns

Help! My candle arrived broken. What do I do?

We are so sorry! Please handle the package carefully to avoid injury from broken glass and follow these steps:

1. Take Photos: We need 2-3 clear photos showing the damaged candle inside the packaging, the outside of the shipping box, and the shipping label.
2. Contact Us: Email the photos to returns@dulcealiento.shop.
3. Resolution: Once received, and the situation qualifies, we will immediately ship a free replacement or issue a full refund—whichever you prefer.

How long will it take for my order to ship?

Standard orders generally ship within 1 to 5 business days. During peak holiday seasons (October–December), processing may take slightly longer. Total delivery time typically ranges from 5 to 10 business days.

Can I return a candle if I don’t like the scent?

We accept returns only if the candle is unlit and remains in its original packaging.

What if my package is lost or stolen?

If your package is lost, please contact us immediately to review our Refund Policy and see if you qualify for a replacement. We also recommend filing a claim with the carrier (USPS, FedEx, or UPS). Please note that if a package is marked “delivered” but is missing, it may be considered stolen; in these cases, we recommend reporting the theft to local authorities.

Are your candles safe to burn around pets?

Yes. Because our fragrance oils are free of organ toxins, acute toxins, and other concerning chemicals, they meet industry-leading safety standards for use in homes with pets.

Do you offer wholesale, bulk orders, or gift notes?

At this time, we do not offer wholesale/bulk ordering for events, nor do we include custom gift notes with orders.
